About the Symposium
April is National Parkinson’s Awareness Month!

Each year in the month of April, the National Parkinson Foundation, Orange County Chapter presents an educational symposium for patients, families and community professionals.

This annual event, which draws an audience of approximately 400 attendees, features nationally known speakers with expertise in Parkinson’s disease. Previous speakers include Janet Reno, former US Attorney General; May May Ali, daughter of heavyweight champion, Mohammad Ali; and Dr. William Langston, founder, CEO, and Scientific Director of the Parkinson's Institute in Sunnyvale, California. Topics include information on current and future medical treatments, research advances, environmental vs. genetic factors, caregiver concerns, exercise and quality of life issues.

This year's symposium is sponsored by the National Parkinson's Foundations Orange County Chapter, Hoag Hospital, and Teva Neuroscience.
